Like his father, Edin has spent the past 2 years seeking whatever odd jobs he can find in construction or agriculture. Edin is the youngest of our participants and one of the most confident. Like most others, Edin's home has very basic electricity, but no running water.
While illiterate, his father is the most multi-talented people we met in our searches. The family has some pigs, but in very un-village-like fashion, they are kept in an enclosure so as not to make a mess of everything else. They have a piece of tree trunk suspended horrizontally in the back yard that contains a bee hive and each spring they unplug one end of the hollowed out log to extract the honey. They are renting the meager house in which they live, but behind it, they have been able to obtain a small parcel of land (just over an acre). 
On that property, Edin's family has been able to collaborate with Plan Honduras to obtain a variety of fruit trees and other plants -- all of which are planted in incredible order and very well looked after.
